“The Ultimate Fighter 12″ open tryouts held April 1 for lightweights, light heavyweights
Although "The Ultimate Fighter 11" doesn't debut for another three weeks, producers are already on the hunt for cast members for the upcoming 12th season.Spike TV officials today announced they'll host an open tryout on April 1 for lightweight (155-pound) and light-heavyweight (205-pound) fighters.
The tryouts are being held in conjunction with UFC Fight Night 21 and take place at the Omni Charlotte Hotel's grand ballroom in Charlotte, N.C.

In anticipation of their UFC 111 main-event fight, UFC welterweight
champion Georges St-Pierre and challenger Dan Hardy will be featured in
"UFC Primetime," a three-part special that airs on Spike TV.The first episode debuts on Spike TV tonight at 10 p.m. ET/PT, while parts two and three will air in the same timeslot on March 17 and March 24, respectively.
UFC 111 takes place March 27 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., and airs on pay-per-view.

Stephan Bonnar lost an appeal to change the result of his UFC 110 loss to Krzystztof Soszynski.The Combat Sports Authority of New South Wales ruled this past Tuesday that the official result ruling the fight a TKO win in favor of Soszynski stands.
"A review was held ... and the Combat Sports Authority of NSW did not seek to interfere with the referee's decision," wrote Craig Waller, Executive Director of the Combat Sports Authority of New South Wales, in an email sent to MMAjunkie.com late Tuesday night.

Jones, Vera focused on 205-pound division now, but heavyweight may be in future
Jon Jones (9-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Brandon Vera (11-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC) could be headed up a division around the same time.The light heavyweight headliners of UFC on Versus 1 spoke Tuesday to media about their March 21 fight, and both said a trip to the heavyweight division is not out of the question in two years, give or take.
It would be Vera's second run in the weight class since June 2008, when the UFC urged him to drop to 205 pounds after losses to Tim Sylvia and Fabricio Werdrum. Jones has served his young career at light heavyweight but said his still-growing frame may support a move up.
