With response from St. Pierre’s camp filed, NSAC sets March 17 review

While many questions have been brought forth by both B.J. Penn and Georges St. Pierre’s camps following their UFC 94 main-event bout, the time has now been set to start getting answers.

Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer told MMAjunkie.com that the NSAC will be reviewing the Jan. 31 bout at their next official meeting, set for March 17.

The review follows weeks of accusations and rebuttals, but does not guarantee the allegations of excessive “greasing” of St. Pierre will be immediately resolved.

Report: Mike Swick vs. Ben Saunders added to UFC 99

As first reported by MMAjunkie.com, popular UFC welterweight Mike Swick will be returning to action at UFC 99.

Now it appears his opponent has been determined.

According to a report from Fiveouncesofpain.com, Swick will meet undefeated “The Ultimate Fighter 6″ cast member Ben Saunders.

“WEC 39: Brown vs. Garcia” weigh-in results

All 22 fighters taking part in Sunday’s “WEC 39: Brown vs. Garcia” in Corpus Christi, Texas, have hit the scales and successfully made weight for the event.

The weigh-ins took place at the unusual local time of 10:00 a.m. at the American Bank Center Convention Center. The American Bank Center Arena plays host to WEC 39 Sunday night.

The American Bank Center Arena is in use Saturday night for an NCAA basketball game between Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Stephen F. Austin, forcing the odd weigh-in scheduling.

WEC 39 preview: Mike Brown aiming to prove title win no fluke

Sunday night’s “WEC 39: Brown vs. Garcia” could have just as easily been titled “Validation.”

Leonard Garcia will be challenging for the WEC featherweight title less than a year after a harrowing brush with the law, while champion Mike Brown is still fighting for acceptance after his November 2008 upset of fan-favorite Urijah Faber.

Two likable characters, two dangerous opponents, but only one can walk away with the title.
